One Direction are 5 young lads from the United Kingdom, comprising of
Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson.
They were discovered on the 2010 series of The X Factor (UK), and formed
a group through the advice of Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Nicole
Scherzinger.
After finishing in third place in the live finals, the five-piece
boyband are set for stardom from 2011 onwards as they launched their
first single & album in Autumn 2011, amidst a blaze of publicity. It
has been reported that they boys have been working with producers such
as RedOne and Matt Squire, as well as collaborating with a whole host of
names.
So far in 2011 1D have completed The X Factor Live Tour which saw
them performing to over 500,000 people up and down the country, they
released their first book ‘Forever Young’ which shot straight to Number 1 and have been chosen to advertise some of Nintendo’s products.
1D recently shot the video to their first single which will be
released in September and are making the final touches to their debut
album which is due at the end of the year.
